Karachi (Pakistan) – Chandor Kitchi alias Chandu, A 32-year-old Hindu youth was recently abducted by his neighbour Azam Kashmiri in Tando Allayar District of Pakistan’s Sindh Province. When Chandu went to the Police station and tried to register a case, the Police refused to register a case. As a result, the young man’s father has filed a petition in Court.
The case was raised by the ‘Pakistan Drawers Association’, an organisation that helps poor Hindus in Sindh Province. Fakir Shiva, the chairman of the organisation, said that Chandu has a mobile phone shop. Azam Kashmiri also has a shop nearby. Chandu was always going there. Azam took him to a Maulana in Badin. Chandu was forcibly converted there. Azam then abducted Chandu with the help of three others. Then he was asked to call his wife and children and change their religion too ‘, to which Chandu did not agree. Chandu finally escaped and reached the Police station. Chandu’s father Abo Kitchi sought help from some organisations as the Police did not register a case. Abo later filed a petition in the Court. Abo has demanded justice from Chief Justice and Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said they were receiving threats from Azam and his associates every day.
Lalchand Mali, a Hindu MP from Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party, said there were some religious fanatics behind the incident. He was keeping an eye on the matter. He assured protection for Chandu’s family.
