New Delhi – Anyone from scheduled caste and tribe who converts will not be able to access the benefits of Central Government schemes that are made available for them, stated Central Government in the Parliament while answering a question.
Central Government stated that the goal of Government Schemes is welfare and progress of Scheduled Caste and Tribe. This benefit cannot be provided after the religious conversion.

80% of people in Andra Pradesh who converted to Christian religion belong to Scheduled Castes and Tribes. (It is evident that they were lured into conversion. To prevent such incidents, it is necessary that Central Government immediately make a policy against religious conversion – Editor)
