TRS female MP sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment for bribing voters

First ever such incident in the country

  • It shows that in the era of gender equality, women are now on a par with men in criminality.
  • Bribing voters for getting elected is akin to accepting our incapability. It would be a surprise if there is no rise in bribery after such candidates win the elections !
  • Of course, there cannot be a comparison between the ideal King Shriram and today’s majority of political leaders who are corrupt themselves but also make the public corrupt.
  • Elections in India are as good as buying the votes and self-respect of voters for money and luring them with cheap food and grains. It is a matter of shame for the public. There is only one option, establishing Hindu Rashtra to change this situation.

Hyderabad (Telangana) – Kavitha Maloth, a Member of Parliament (MP) and the leader of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has been convicted of bribing voters during the general elections in 2019. Special Court from Nampalli has sentenced Kavitha Maloth to 6 months of imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 10,000. It is being said that Kavitha Maloth can appeal the judgement of the Special Court in the High Court. This is the first incident in the country where a female MP is being convicted for bribing.

A single vote was sold for Rs. 500

In 2019, Revenue Department Officials nabbed Maloth’s associate Shaukat Ali while he was distributing cash to people. He was seeking their votes in the Burgampahad area for Rs. 500 each. Police registered a case against Maloth and Ali after this incident. During the trial, Ali admitted that he had distributed money at Maloth’s behest.
