China illegally builds large dams on the River Brahmaputra and other rivers to divert water. It impacts the neighbouring countries, including India. Nature is probably now teaching a lesson to China, which has been harassing other countries with its unnatural actions !
Beijing (China) – The Chinese Meteorological Department has recorded the highest rainfall in the last thousand years in Henan Province. As reported by ‘The Telegraph’, at least 25 people have died so far, while millions have been evacuated. “Flood-prevention efforts have become very difficult”, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a statement broadcast on State television.

1. Officials have stated that Zhengzhou recorded 617.1 mm rainfall from 17th to 21st July, nearly the same as the annual average rainfall in the city (640.8 mm).
2. The downpour has led to the breach of several dams, while the water in several rivers has reached an alarming level. Local authorities in the Luoyang city reported a 20-metre breach in the Yihetan dam, fearing it could collapse at any time.
3. China relies heavily on dams for water and there are a total of 98,000 dams in the country. Most of these dams were built a few decades ago and their capability to hold rainwater is questionable.
