Pakistani PM Imran Khan blames women’s clothing for rapes

• Although it is inappropriate for women to wear short clothing, it cannot be the sole reason behind the rapes. Lust is the biggest reason behind the rapes and hence, lust-driven people must be strictly punished

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistani PM Imran Khan is at the centre of yet another controversy after his bizarre statement against women. In an interview with ‘Axios on HBO’, he said, ‘If a woman is wearing very few clothes, it will have an impact on the men, unless they are robots.’ Imran Khan’s statement came on the backdrop of rising incidents of sexual abuse in Pakistan. Imran Khan had made a similar statement in the past too.

Dr Arslan Khalid, Advisor to PM Khan, said in a tweet, ‘Again selective and out of context tweeting of what he (PM Khan) actually said by subtracting the part where he talked about what kind of society we live in and about the sexual frustration in the society.’
