Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Retired HC Judge Michael Francis Saldanha has claimed that rape-accused former Bishop Franco Mulakkal has so far been shielded because of his financial power and political connections. Speaking in an interview on a news channel, he stated that despite the investigation indicating criminal charges against the Bishop, why he is not arrested.
Saldanha further said, ‘Mulakkal’s case has become a National issue now. Citing a survey, he said that 60,000 nuns in Kerala have raised their voice against sexual abuse. The nuns’ only demand is legal action against the accused.
