New Delhi – The actor Pearl Puri was arrested by the Mumbai Police under the POCSO Act (POCSO) after he was accused of raping a minor. He was put in the judicial custody for 14 days. Now, he has been released on bail. Enraged devotees of H.H. Asaram Bapu have expressed their anger against the verdict, ‘bail to Puri’, by the Sessions Court, Vasai. They have asked, ‘How did Pearl get bail within just 11 days after his arrest ?’

1. Devotees of H.H. Asaram Bapu allege that Bapu has also been accused of raping a minor and a case has also been registered against him under the POCSO Act (POCSO) like Pearl. If Pearl can get bail, then why not Bapu ? This is bias.
2. A user of social media has said in a tweet, ‘actor Pearl Puri gets bail. But in India which is called a land of Saints, H.H. Asaram Bapu does not get bail under the same POCSO Act’.
