Darbhanga (Bihar) – In the second wave of the Covid-19 at a time when ventilators, Remdesivir injections, Oxygen, vaccines are falling short and the Central Government is attempting to help States to come out of the situation, 25 ventilators procured under PM-care fund are lying unused at Darbhanga. They have not been used even once since last 9 months.

Dr. Mani Bhushan, Superintendent of Darbhanga Medical College said, “It is true that the hospital received the ventilators with ICU set up. The ventilators were in a process to go live. However, since the dry run procedure could not be successfully started, the ventilators remained unused. The dry run procedure is being tested again and the ventilators will be used soon. It is very important that the dry run procedure is started appropriately. If this procedure is not started properly then it may cause danger to the patient’s life as well”.
