Uttar Pradesh: Product being sold with the name ‘Shankar Parvati Bidi’ !

  • Devout Hindu advocate Anay Shrivastav registers a complaint with CM Yogi AdityanathPolice remain inactive even after registering FIR !
  • The Police in Uttar Pradesh, that remain inactive  even after launching a complaint against the insult of Deities should be penalised !

Bhadohi (UP) – Bidis (a type of tobacco rolled in a leaf) are being manufactured in the Suriyawan area of Bhadohi District in UP for the past many years. The product packing is also embedded with the images of the Deities Shankar and Parvati. Purchasers throw the wrappers of this Bidi in a dustbin or gutters after its usage. This leads to insulting the Deities. Devout Hindu Shiv Yadav had registered an FIR with the Police in this case. However, since the Police remained inactive on the complaint, information was gathered under the Right to Information act. It came to light through this that no action can be taken against the Bbidi manufacturer Vinay Chaurasiya since he has registered his product for the last 30 years.  (It was expected that the police should take action against this proactively. The police should to this inaction. If reverences of other religions would have been insulted in this way, would they have ever taken such a stand ? – Editor)

After getting this information, Advocate Anay Shrivastava from Allahabad High Court registered a complaint with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and demanded to ban the usage of the images of the Shankar and Parvati by the product.
