As part of the responsibility assigned to him by the army, Lt Col Purohit was present in the conspiracy meetings at that time. He was entrusted with the responsibility of collecting intelligence. So, the National Investigation Agency should have obtained necessary prior permission from the government to prosecute him. Lt Col Purohit claimed that despite discharging his duty he was treated like a terrorist and also put behind bars. He has asked that all charges against him be dropped.
