India’s response to Chinese ban on Indian flyers
New Delhi – The Indian Government has unofficially asked all airlines not to fly in Chinese nationals to India. China has banned Indian flyers to China since November. The latest directive is seen as India’s response to China. (Though this is a valid decision it would have been better if it would have taken immediately in November ! – Editor)

Indian seafarers are stranded in several Chinese ports because China is not granting permission to them to dock or even to change crew. This has impacted around 1,500 Indians serving on international flag merchant vessels as they are unable to return to India. India’s decision to restrict entry of Chinese nationals is also believed to be a response to this. (The Indian Government should endeavour to bring these Indian travellers back to India ! – Editor)
