New Delhi – Advocate Puneet Kaur Dhanda has filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking to purge the voter list of bogus voters. Bengal is due for assembly elections early next year. The PIL also mentions that the Hindus in Muslim dominated areas of Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, Murshidabad, Nadia, Cooch Behar, Kolkata, North 24 Parganas and South Parganas are being restrained from voting and the petition demands that this issue be addressed.

Dhanda’s PIL says
- The court should seek a report from the EC on bogus voters in Bengal.
- CBI enquiry to be held regarding the killings of the leaders and workers of Bengal’s opposition parties.
- BJP workers are victims in majority of the political murders in the state . The ruling party has drastically failed to curb this. Women are being murdered as well. Human rights are being substantially violated in the state. Owing to these facts, the leaders of opposition parties must be given protection.
The petition, filed through advocate Vineet Dhanda, also sought to draw the court’s attention to the attack on BJP president J P Nadda’s cavalcade in Bengal.https://t.co/ir1mSH5My5
