Mumbai – 11th July is ‘World Population Day’, on this basis two ‘hashtag trend’ were created on 9th July – ‘#PopulationControlLaw’ and ‘#PopulationControlBill’. In this, people tweeted and asked that Indian Government should pass the population policy with majority votes. It should come up with very stringent and effective population control law. This law should be applicable to all religions, demanded the trending tweets. ‘#PopulationControlLaw’ was trending at third position within a short period whereas ‘#PopulationControlBill’ was trending second.

Current population of India is 137 crores, whereas world population is 780 crores. It means that India’s population is 18 percent as compared to World’s population. With an increase in the population, providing health, education and other basic facilities can create difficulties. Therefore, there was a proposal for population control in India.
