- Millions of Sikhs in the country have opposed Khalistan. Thousands of Sikhs are serving in the Indian Armed Forces and have fought for the country earlier as well. Bear in mind, Akal Takht is spreading the ideology of separatism among the Sikhs by saying that all Sikhs want Khalistan !
- The Sikh sect was established to counter the invasion of religious fanatics. It is a part of Hindu Dharma itself; but due to Goebbels spread of Pakistan, the fundamentalist Sikhs are denying this truth and demanding a separate Khalistan. It will be a big challenge for the Government to bring those Sikhs to the mainstream by telling them the true history.
- If an independent Khalistan is formed, will it last for a day ? Pakistan will immediately invade and capture it just like Kashmir, why Akal Takht does not understand this ?
Amritsar (Punjab) – If the Government offers us ‘Khalistan’ (an independent ‘Khalistan’ nation for the Sikhs), what more can we ask for ? We will accept it. Every Sikh wants Khalistan. If the Sikh youth are raising slogans in support of ‘Khalistan’, there is nothing inappropriate in it; said Akal Takht’s acting Jathedar, Giani Harpreet Singh in a press conference. Operation Blue Star was executed by the Indian Army 36 years ago, on 6th June 1984, to drive out Khalistani terrorists from the Golden Temple here. He was speaking on this occasion.
1. At the same time, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Gobind Singh Longowal said, ‘if anyone offers us Khalistan, we will accept it’. The Akal Takht is the supreme bench among the five benches of the Sikhs. It is said that Akal Takht and SGPC have unitedly supported the demand for an independent Khalistan for the first time.
2.On the statement of Giani Harpreet Singh and Longowal, Sikh separatists and the founder of radical Sikh organisation ‘Dal Khalsa’, Gajinder Singh, posted on Facebook that, the leader of Akal Takht has supported Khalistan in his own style, may God bless us with the ability to protect them.
3.Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar said, ‘those who have the position of respect should realise their responsibility.’ BJP has not expressed any response so far.
