Medicine made using Ashwagandha can cure coronavirus patients ! – IIT-Delhi research

New Delhi – According to research conducted by Professor D. Sundar, head of the Delhi Indian Institute of Technology’s Biotechnology Department, natural medicine made using Ashwagandha can cure the coronavirus patients. A chemical substance present in Ashwagandha can prove effective in preventing the growth of corona cells. Ashwagandha is traditionally used in Ayurvedic treatment in India. Professor Sundar has been working with a Japanese institution to research on Ashwagandha for the past 15 years.

Professor D. Sundar said that –

We will work towards making medicine using Ashwagandha for treating coronavirus. Several medical tests are necessary to make medicine using Ashwagandha for corona. Efforts for this should be made in a state-of-the-art laboratory. We will also work on it.

A month ago Central Government has formed a joint execution team of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and Technology. In that they were asked to conduct research on Ayurvedic medicines like Ashwagandha, Yashtimadhu, Long Pepper (Peepli) with Guduchi, Ayush-64 (malaria drug) with context to coronavirus. We have independently done research related to Ashwagandha. Many other researchers can use our research related to coronavirus.
