25 killed in shooting in Honduras, Central America

Tegucigalpa (Honduras) – At least 25 people have been killed in two separate shootings in the Central American country of Honduras. Six police officers were among the dead.

1. The first attack took place on a farm in the Trujillo area. In this attack, gunmen opened fire on the workers indiscriminately. 19 people were killed in this attack. Environmental and land rights activists here had been receiving threats in the past.

2. The second incident took place in the Omoa area on the Guatemalan border. Here, gunmen attacked a police team. Six police officers, including a senior officer, were killed in this attack.
