Person planting the bomb killed; Anti-terror squad investigating

Patiala (Punjab) – A blast occurred while a bomb was being placed on a freight railway track (Dedicated Freight Corridor) between Shambhu and Rajpura railway stations in Patiala. The person planting the bomb was killed in the explosion. The incident took place late on the night of 27 April. The blast caused significant damage to the railway track. Police recovered the mutilated body of an unidentified individual from the scene.

According to preliminary investigation by the Police, the individual was likely attempting to place the bomb on the track when it exploded, resulting in his death. Upon receiving information, senior Police officials, including the Superintendent of Police and Deputy Inspector General, reached the spot with a large Police force and a bomb disposal squad. Police have seized two motorcycles, wires, other explosive materials, and a damaged mobile phone from the site.
Currently, one side of the track has been closed for repairs, while train movement continues on the other side. Police are investigating the incident from all angles and have stated that a major revelation is expected soon.
