Married woman gets mentally ill due to harassment by superiors

Nagpur, Maharashtra – A case has come to light where a married woman became mentally ill due to sexual harassment by her office superiors. The woman’s husband is fighting a legal battle to ensure action against the accused and to get justice for his devastated family; however, the relevant authorities are causing him such immense mental distress that the young man is on the verge of losing his sanity. He expressed his thoughts on the matter to a news channel.
1. The wife was harassed by her colleagues in the office. When she informed her superiors about the unbearable harassment, she ended up losing her job. As this incident deeply impacted her mind, she became mentally ill. Consequently, the husband had to manage all household chores, cooking, and his job while overseeing his wife’s medical treatment. He also visited the police repeatedly to seek justice for her.
2. In the month of February, two young men came to the house at night. They cut the woman’s hair to further disfigure her. At that time, the husband rushed to the police. After making many rounds, he was told that the case was non-cognizable.
3. Following this, he filed a complaint with the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission, as well as the State Commission for Women. He received acknowledgments from both. On March 10, 2026, the State Commission for Women sent a letter to the Nagpur Police Commissioner’s office, directing them to take immediate action and submit a report to the Commission.
4. The police have summoned the mentally ill wife to the police station; but since she is mentally ill, the question remains: what will she be able to tell them? Nevertheless, the police gave a five-day deadline to bring her in. On this, the husband said, “Should I smash my own head now? Instead of getting justice, I am constantly receiving mental agony. Because of this, I feel like I have become insane myself. I feel like I should just end it all.”
