Research conducted by Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidhyalay
‘Salsa’ is a type of ‘sensual’ dance to be performed with a partner. This dance style originated basically in Cuba. It is believed that ‘Salsa’ is influenced by the music and tradition of ‘European and African culture’. This dance style popular in Latin America, America, and Europe, is also becoming popular in Asia and Africa.

Nowadays, the attraction of ‘Salsa’ is growing among the youth of India. Many young people attend classes to learn this dance style. To study what spiritual impact Salsa dancing has on the dance instructor and the dancers learning the dance, spiritual research was conducted with the ‘Universal Aura Scanner (UAS)’. The interpretation, conclusions, and spiritual analysis of the observations from this study are given ahead.
1. Interpretation of the observations in the study : Two dance instructors (1 female and 1 male) and four dancers (2 female and 2 male) participated in this study. Among the dancers, 1 female and 1 male had severe spiritual distress. The dance instructors provided Salsa dance training to the dancers. UAS readings were taken of the dance instructors and dancers before and after dancing. The effect of Salsa dancing on dance instructors and dancers is given ahead.
1 A. Salsa dance has many negative effects on both the dance instructor and the dancers : This is evident from the table given below.
| Participants in the Salsa dance study | Particulars | Negative Energy Aura (Metre) | Positive Energy Aura (Metre) |
| 1. Dance Instructors | |||
| A. Female dance instructor | Before the dance | 6.22 | 0(Note) |
| After the dance | 17.66 | 0 | |
| B. Male dance instructor | Before the dance | 5.03 | 4.28 |
| After the dance | 13.43 | 0 | |
| 2. Dancers | |||

| After the dance | 12.28 | 0 | |
| B. Male with severe spiritual distress | Before the dance | 3.68 | 1.20 |
| After the dance | 16.20 | 0 | |
| C. Female with no spiritual distress | Before the dance | 6.10 | 2.42 |
| After the dance | 11.74 | 0 | |
| D. Male with no spiritual distress | Before the dance | 4.72 | 3.28 |
| After the dance | 15.70 | 0 |
Note – Arms of the ‘Aura Scanner’ made an angle of 140 degrees. Only if the Aura scanner makes 180 degrees angle, can the ‘Aura’ be measured.
From the table given above, following points are evident.
1. After the dance, there was significant increase in the negative energy aura in the dance instructors and the dancers.
2. After the dance, the positive energy aura in the dance instructors and the dancers was nullified.
2. Conclusion : Salsa dancing had a very negative spiritual impact on both, the dance instructors and the dancers.
3. Spiritual analysis of the observations in the study
3 A. Distressing vibrations to a large extent were emitted from the ‘Salsa’ dance : Salsa is a sensual dance to be performed along with a partner. This dance incorporates Western costumes, hairstyles, and makeup, to the accompaniment of Western music. Lustful thoughts increase in the minds of those participating in this sensual dancing. In short, this dance style and its associated elements (for example the costumes, hairstyles, make-up, Western music, etc.) were not sattvik and therefore emitted distressing vibrations.
3 B. The sensual Salsa dance can awaken the centres of distressing energies in the bodies of the participants : Nowadays, almost everyone is troubled by spiritual distress to a greater or lesser extent. The dancers in the study who had severe spiritual distress were troubled by negative energies. The sensuality of Salsa dancing awakened and activated the centres of the distressing energies in the bodies of the dancers. Taking advantage of this, the negative energies transmitted distressing energy into them thus impacting the dancers negatively.
3 C. Salsa dancing has many negative effects on both the dance instructors and the dancers : Before the dance, the dance instructors and the dancers had positive and negative energies. Due to the distressing vibrations emitted by the Salsa dance, the covering of distressing vibrations around the dancers increased to a large extent. Therefore, their negative energy aura increased and their positive energy aura was nullified. In short, the dance instructor and the dancers were severely affected, negatively.
3 D. Distress experienced by the participants in the Salsa dance study : The dancers who participated in the Salsa dance study mentioned that, they were sexually aroused while participating in this dance. After dancing, they experienced fatigue, headache, inability to think, and thoughts of lust lingering in their minds for a long time.
