‘Ram Rajya does not feed people’ : TMC leader’s outrageous statement

Kolkata (Bengal) – In the backdrop of the State elections, Trinamool Congress leader Akhil Giri said, ‘There is no need for Ram Rajya in Bengal. It does not feed people.’ This statement has further heated the political atmosphere. He also stated that the ‘Ram Rajya’ issue raised by the opposition is not related to the real needs of the State. Giri, who is fighting the election on the Trinamool Congress ticket from Ramnagar constituency, objected to the deployment of the Border Security Force in the State. He accused the Election Commission of bias and said that ‘BJP is using Central machinery for its own benefit’.

Giri further said,

1. The people of the State want development and welfare, not politics based on religious slogans. Therefore, Mamata Banerjee will become the Chief Minister again and ‘Mamataraj’ will continue in Bengal.

2. BJP is raising unnecessary issues while campaigning in Bengal. The Muslim community in the State fully supports Mamata Banerjee.

Editorial Perspective

  • People know very well what Ram Rajya looked like and what could happen if it returns. How low will Trinamool leaders stoop to by making such statements to appease Muslims? The Hindus of Bengal should take the initiative to end the political existence of Trinamool Congress in the coming elections.
  • Fanatic Muslims are eager to bring Sharia law to India. Have Trinamool members ever said that Sharia does not feed people?
