Contractor fined ₹10 lakh !

Mumbai – A cockroach was found in the meals served to two passengers on the ‘Vande Bharat’ Express operating on the Ahmedabad–Mumbai route. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Passenger Aditya Didwaniya shared information about the incident on ‘X’.
Taking serious cognisance of the matter, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) imposed a fine of ₹10 lakh on the concerned food contractor. Additionally, the process to terminate the contractor’s agreement has also been initiated.

After the cockroach was found in the food, other passengers also stopped consuming their meals. Passengers shared photos and videos of the food on social media and tagged the Railway Ministry.
