Attack carried out after 48-hour warning

New Delhi – US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States carried out a major attack on Iran’s capital, Tehran, in which several senior Iranian military officials were killed. Trump also shared a video of the attack on social media, showing the sky over Tehran lit up by explosions. The strike reportedly took place after a 48-hour warning issued by Trump, in which he had said that if Iran did not reach an agreement with the US or reopen the Strait of Hormuz, it would face “total destruction.”

Iran seizes assets of over 100 individuals accused of treason
Iran has ordered the seizure of assets and freezing of bank accounts of more than 100 individuals accused of supporting the enemy. Those under investigation include several actors, athletes, and journalists. These individuals are reportedly associated with media outlets such as “Iran International” and “Manoto,” which the Iranian government alleges have links to Israel. Iran claims to have shot down a US C-130 aircraft
Iran’s special Police commando unit, “Faraj Rangers,” has claimed to have shot down a US C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in Isfahan province. The United States has not issued any statement on this claim. Earlier, Iran had claimed to have shot down a US F-15 fighter jet. A search operation was underway in Isfahan to rescue a missing pilot from that aircraft. Iran claims that during this operation, its forces targeted the C-130 aircraft and two helicopters involved in the mission. Experts suggest that if the C-130 was indeed shot down, it would mark one of the biggest military setbacks for the US in the past decade.
Rescue of a US pilot from Iran

According to a US official, the second pilot from the downed F-15 fighter jet has been found safe in Iran. However, the rescue team still needs to successfully evacuate from Iran to a secure location.
Both Iran and the United States had launched extensive search and rescue operations. Iranian state media had even announced a reward of 50 lakh rupees for local residents to capture and hand over the pilot.
Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei missing?

After Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed, his son Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed as Iran’s new Supreme Leader on 8 March. However, he has not been seen in public since then. Israel had earlier claimed that he too had been killed, though Iran has not confirmed this. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have repeatedly suggested that Mojtaba Khamenei may have died or been seriously injured, leading to speculation that real power in Iran may now lie with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
However, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has rejected these claims, stating that Mojtaba is healthy and actively managing the country. Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations has attributed his absence from public view to “security reasons.”
