Condemnation of attacks on critical infrastructure

New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Iran’s President, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian. He extended greetings to Dr Pezeshkian on the occasions of Eid and Nowruz (the Parsi New Year). He also condemned attacks on critical infrastructure in the Middle East. The Prime Minister shared this information on ‘X’.

Prime Minister Modi stated –

1. “I spoke with Iran’s President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian. During this festive period (Eid), we expressed hope for peace and stability in the Middle East.”

2. “We condemned attacks on critical infrastructure in the region; such actions threaten regional stability and disrupt global supply chains.”

3. “We reiterated the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and keeping maritime routes open and secure.”

4. “We thanked Iran for its continued support in ensuring the safety of Indian citizens in the country.”
