Annaprasad service temporarily closed at Shri Banshankari Temple, Bengaluru

Acute shortage of commercial LPG gas cylinders

(LPG stands for Liquefied Petroleum Gas)

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – The war in the Gulf countries has led to an acute shortage of LPG gas cylinders in the country. As a result, the Annaprasad service at the famous Shri Banshankari Temple in Bengaluru has been temporarily suspended.

The temple requires 5-6 commercial cylinders every day to prepare food for devotees in the morning, afternoon and evening. Currently, only 4 cylinders are available in the temple, which are not enough for daily cooking. Due to the non-supply of gas, the Prasad service has been stopped.

Editorial Perspective

While giving priority to houses and vehicles, the Government must also prioritise LPG supply to food shelters, temples, ashrams and dharmashalas.
