Violence in Karnavati (Gujarat) After Objection by Muslims to Music Played During a Hindu Wedding

Karnavati (Gujarat) — Violence broke out in the Shaherkotda police station area after objections were raised by members of the Muslim community to loud music and instruments being played during a Hindu wedding ceremony. According to reports, stones were allegedly thrown at Hindu homes and vehicles were vandalised. So far, police have arrested seven persons, including a minor, in connection with the incident. Police stated that they reached the spot after receiving a complaint about loud music being played during the wedding ceremony and attempted to maintain peace. During this time, an argument broke out between the two groups, which escalated into stone-pelting. Windows of vehicles were also smashed.

The affected Hindu family has alleged that due to the violent situation, they were forced to conclude the wedding ceremony prematurely.

• Muslims are disturbed by the music played during Hindu weddings, yet the same Muslims have been troubling Hindus for years by broadcasting the azaan. What about that ? Strict action is necessary against such aggressive Muslims !
• Hindus feel that such a situation should not arise in Gujarat, especially when the BJP has been in power there for the past three decades !
