Pathanamthitta (Kerala) — The body of a 35-year-old woman was found at her husband’s residence in Kadambanad village of Pathanamthitta district. A suicide note recovered from the spot mentioned the name of Congress leader Suhail Ansari. Based on this, the police have arrested him.
1. Suhail Ansari is the State Secretary of the Youth Congress and an active local official. He was working as a Public Relations Officer (PRO) at a private school in the area, where the deceased woman was employed as an office staff member.
2. According to the suicide note, Suhail Ansari had been persistently harassing the woman and allegedly pressurising her for physical relationship. The note states that she was under severe mental stress due to this harassment and was driven to take the extreme step. These details came to light in the police investigation.
3. Suhail Ansari has been arrested on charges of sexual harassment and abetment of suicide. The police are scrutinising WhatsApp conversations and other evidence in connection with the case.
