Won’t accept imposition of Hindutva culture on Sikhs through Vande Mataram : Dal Khalsa

Pro-Khalistan ‘Dal Khalsa’ opposes singing ‘Vande Mataram’

Amritsar (Punjab) – The decision to make it mandatory to sing ‘Vande Mataram’ in schools, colleges etc. is an attempt to impose Hindutva ideology on the Sikh community in the name of Indianness. Being Sikhs, we will not accept this. This decision is against the sentiments of the Sikh community and their religious identity, stated Kanwarpal Singh Bittu, leader of the Sikh organization ‘Dal Khalsa’, which supports Khalistan.

Kanwarpal Singh Bittu has appealed to the entire Sikh community to reject this decision and demand its repeal. He said that this decision is like imposing a particular ideology on Sikh culture, which is not in line with Sikh traditions. This is a subtle attack. Sikhs should understand this point seriously and oppose it. If any decision is imposed on the Sikh community by the Government of India or the Government of Punjab through deceit, fraud or any hidden agenda, then it has been opposed in the past and will continue to be opposed.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Such a treasonous pro-Khalistan organization should be banned.

  • In Punjab, one person from each Hindu family became Sikh and fought for the protection of Dharma. This tradition continues even today. Hence, those who consider Hindutva to be different from Sikhism are traitors and anti-Hindus.

  • History says that all the Sikh religious leaders tried to protect Hindu Dharma. Some of them even sacrificed their lives. But if organizations like ‘Dal Khalsa’ are opposing Hindutva in the name of Khalistan, then it is necessary to teach such organizations a lesson.
