New Delhi – MP Y V Subba Reddy of YSR Congress Party and the former chairman of ‘Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Mandal held a press conference to give explanation on the accusations about adulteration in ‘Laddoos’ distributed as ‘Prasadam’ of Bhagavan Venkateshwara at Tirupati. He stated that the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), in its report published in 2022, had made a mention about the use of adulterated ‘ghee’ in preparing the ‘Prasadam’ of ‘Laddoos’; however, there was no mention about adulteration of animal fat.

Mr Reddy refuted the charges levelled by the National Democratic Front (NDF) Government led by Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh, of suppressing the report. He countered by asking why would a letter would have been written to CFTRI for checking the samples, had the report been suppressed. He informed that action was taken based on a complaint by unknown person and the matter was sent to CFTRI. Mr Reddy demanded to know the action taken by the officers based on the report.

Editorial Perspective

The adulteration was done when Reddy’s YSR Congress Party’s Government was ruling the State but why the Reddy Government didn’t take any action ? How the Government didn’t notice it ? Mr Reddy is conveniently avoiding to answer such queries.
