Yavatmal, Maharashtra – Abdul Gafoor Shah Urdu School No.2 run under the Umarkhed municipality in Yavatmal district made its students dance on a Pakistani song during its cultural programme. BJP has demanded filing a case of sedition against the concerned.
BJP’s district general secretary Mahesh Kaleshwarkar shared this information in a press conference held by him om 04.02.2026. The other BJP leaders present in the press conference were Vijay Hardapkar, city president Atul Khandare and municipal councillor, Amol Tiwarangkar; besides some of the office bearers. BJP’s municipal councillor Gopal Kalane has lodged a complaint with Umarkhed Police station in this regard.
What exactly is the issue ?1. In the background of the Republic Day on 26.01.2026, the school held a cultural programme on 31.01.2026. The students presented a dance in the cultural programme, on the song ‘E Mard- E-Mujahid Teri Yalagar Kahan Hai…’ which is a Pakistani war song. 2. This song used to be played during the 1965- India -Pakistan war in Pakistan to incite its soldiers and people against India. Even now, this song is played in programmes held by Pakistan army. There is a ban on this song in India for the provocative words used in the song, challenging the sovereignty of India. 3. There appears to be a perilous ideology working behind this issue. Cases should be filed against the concerned headmaster, teachers and responsible officers under the Indian Penal Code and in-depth investigations needs to be conducted. |
