The Congress should declare, ‘We don’t want Hindu votes’ : BJP leader C.T. Ravi challenges Congress

The incident involves Congress leader Ramanath Rai making a sacrilegious statement that ‘saffron flags should not be hoisted on temples’ !

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – It is a great paradox that Congress leader and former minister Ramanath Rai, who himself is a Hindu and worships Deities, considers the saffron flag a ‘political flag’. How can the saffron flag, which symbolizes sacrifice and valor, which has been held aloft by saints and sages, and which represents the eternal culture of the country, be a political flag, questioned BJP leader C.T. Ravi. Calling the saffron flag a political flag is nothing but politics of appeasement. The Congress is fundamentally an anti-Hindu party. If they have the courage, Congress leaders should declare, ‘We will not participate in any program where the saffron flag is present, and we do not want Hindu votes,’ Ravi challenged.

The Congress had objected to the hoisting of the saffron flag during the ‘Paryaya’ festival celebrated at the Sri Krishna Math in Udupi and demanded action against the District Collector. Following this, Congress leader and former minister Ramanath Rai made the sacrilegious statement that ‘the saffron flag should not be hoisted on temples’. Ravi issued the above challenge in response to this statement.
