Dhaka (Bangladesh) – The body of a Jagannath University student was recovered from a mess in Bhati Khana area of Old Dhaka on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Akash Sarkar, a student of the Department of Theatre at Jagannath University. He was from Faridpur district. While the police, in their preliminary investigation, have stated that it appears to be a case of suicide, the incident is being viewed seriously in the backdrop of the continuous atrocities against Hindus in the country.

The Police said that the door of Akash’s room was locked from the inside. After repeated knocking and receiving no response, the door was broken open, and Akash’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

Body of a Hindu Student Found in Naogaon

A Bangladeshi Hindu student, missing for nearly a week, was found dead in Naogaon district on Saturday. According to local media, the student has been identified as Abhi, a fourth-year student of the Management Department at a government college. His body was recovered on Saturday afternoon from a river near the Kalitala cremation ground in the Naogaon district, reported The Daily Agrajatra Pratidin. He was the son of Ramesh Chandra and a resident of Santahar in Adamdighi Upazila of Bogura district.

According to his family, he had gone missing on 11th January after a family argument, and his family had been searching for him since. As reports of the discovery circulated on social media, Abhi’s family rushed to the riverbank and identified him by his clothing.

As of now, the specific cause of Abhi Chandra’s death remains undetermined, and investigations are ongoing. Both family members and local residents have questioned whether the death was accidental or involved foul play. Abhi’s father informed local media that the family searched extensively before filing a general diary at Adamdighi police station.
