Protester removes Iranian flag from London’s Iranian embassy and hoists Lion and Sun flag

Impact of the protests in Iran

Mosques were set on fire

Tehran (Iran) – The anti-inflation protests that have been going on in Iran for the past 2 weeks are intensifying. The situation is extremely tense in more than 100 cities, including the capital Tehran. The Government has shut down internet services to crush the protests. The communication system has been disrupted, and Iran is almost completely cut off from the world. Hospitals are full of dead bodies. Notably, mosques have also been attacked and set on fire. Reza Pahlavi, the son of the former Shah of Iran, has called on people to take to the streets and overthrow the Government. Against this backdrop, a man climbed the Iranian embassy building in London and took down the Iranian flag and hoisted the Lion and Sun flag in its place. This flag is considered a symbol of Iran’s monarchy that existed earlier.

A rebel technology group has claimed to have circumvented the Government’s internet ban in Iran through satellite internet. The group is reportedly using Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite and working with local activists to send videos of protests outside the country and disseminate relevant information back to Iran.
