Muslims’ circulation of anti-Hindu video in Nepal leads to vandalism of a mosque

Seven policemen injured in violence by Muslims afterwards

Kathmandu (Nepal) – In Nepal’s Dhanusha district near the Indian border, a mosque was vandalised after Muslims circulated an anti-Hindu video on social media. The incident occurred on 4thDecember. Following this, Muslims also resorted to violence, in which seven policemen were injured. The police tried to bring the situation under control by firing tear gas shells. District Magistrate Bhola Dahal appealed to the public not to participate in any activity that would disturb social harmony.

The police stated that three persons have been arrested on charges of circulating the video on the ‘TikTok’ app and participating in the vandalism. Two Muslim youths are accused of spreading anti-Hindu content on social media.
