Posters Threaten Beheading of BJP Leader in Bengal

“We Will Not Be Intimidated” : BJP responds

Kolkata (Bengal) – Posters carrying threats to behead BJP leader Tarun Mandal have appeared in the Hingalganj area of North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. The posters also warn of “serious consequences” if Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari holds a public meeting in the area. The BJP has circulated images of these posters on social media, alleging that “democracy itself is under attack in Hingalganj.”

The BJP has stated that under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s rule, there is no space left in the state for democratic freedoms, the right to dissent, or free expression. According to the party, raising one’s voice against the government now invites death threats as punishment. Such threats, it said, are being used to silence political opponents.

The BJP further alleged that as the Trinamool Congress is losing public support, its workers have resorted to creating an atmosphere of fear. Declaring that it will not be cowed down by intimidation or violence, the BJP reiterated its resolve to oust the Trinamool Congress from power in the 2026 Assembly elections.

Editorial Perspective

Bengal has become another Bangladesh. A Government that fails to act in Bengal also does nothing to protect Hindus in Bangladesh.
