Offensive statement made by husband of Uttarakhand’s Women and Child Development Minister regarding women in Bihar

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) – Are you going to get married when you are old ? If you want to get married, let’s bring girls from Bihar. Girls are available there for ₹20-25,000, said Girdhari Lalu Sahu, husband of Women and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya in the BJP Government of Uttarakhand. Girdhari Lalu Sahu was interacting with the youth and the above statements were made while talking to a youth. Sahu’s statement has invited angry reactions from Uttarakhand and Bihar. Bihar State Women’s Commission has taken note of this and issued a notice to Sahu. BJP has also condemned his statement. BJP leaders have said that Sahu has no connection with the BJP.

After the criticism, Sahu released a video stating, “I said this about my friend’s wedding. This video was misinterpreted to tarnish my wife’s image. If my words have hurt anyone, I sincerely apologize.”
