
New York (USA) – The United Nations refugee agency said that there were currently about 20 lakh Afghan refugees living in Pakistan. Surprisingly, till now, more than 10 lakh Afghan citizens returned to their own country. According to the latest data from the United Nations, the campaign to repatriate Afghans under the Pakistan Government’s ‘Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan’ was going on in earnest. In November alone, 1,71,055 lakh Afghan citizens returned to Afghanistan. Of these, 37,899 were sent through the Chaman, Torkham and Barabcha border crossings.
