Yunus Government killed Osman Hadi to sabotage elections: Sharif Omar Hadi

Allegation by Osman Hadi’s brother at a public rally

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – “You had Osman Hadi killed. Now you are using this very incident as a pretext to foil the country’s general elections,” Sharif Omar Hadi, the brother of anti-India and Sheikh Hasina-critic Bangladeshi leader Osman Hadi, alleged while addressing a public gathering. Omar made this accusation against the Muhammad Yunus government at the Shahidi Shopoth programme organised by the Inquilab Moncho at Shahbag on 23 December. Bangladesh is scheduled to hold its general elections on 12 February next year.

Omar Hadi claimed that Osman did not bow before any authority or foreign masters, and it was precisely for this reason that he was killed.

One day, you too will be forced to flee Bangladesh: Omar Hadi’s warning to Muhammad Yunus

Omar further stated that those responsible for the murder should be prosecuted at the earliest so that the elections are not affected. He said that so far, the government has not informed them of any concrete progress in the investigation into Osman Hadi’s murder. “If Osman Hadi does not get justice, then one day you too will be forced to flee Bangladesh,” Omar warned Muhammad Yunus.

Osman Hadi was shot in Dhaka on 12 December. He later died on 18 December while undergoing treatment in Singapore. Since then, political developments in the country have intensified.
