US Airstrikes on Over 70 Islamic State Bases in Syria

Retaliation for the killing of American soldiers and a civilian

Damascus (Syria) – On the night of December 19, the United States carried out airstrikes on more than 70 Islamic State terrorist bases in Syria, destroying them. On December 13, two American soldiers and one civilian were killed in Syria. As the Islamic State was responsible for these killings, the United States launched the attacks. Following the incident, US President Donald Trump had warned that there would be a strong response and retaliation.

The US military has launched “Operation Hawkeye.” The objective of this operation is to completely dismantle the Islamic State’s network, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said in a post on the social media platform “X.”
