Sudden stone pelting on the Train

Khed, Maharashtra – A shocking incident of attempted train dacoity has been reported. The incident happened at midnight, on the Kokan Railway, at the Vanhere railway station in Raigadh district. The dacoits tried to open the coach’s door and enter; but Mahesh Pendse’s, the TC (Ticket Collector) presence of mind saved the passengers.
At about 2 am the Okha – Ernakulum Express reached Vanhere station, suddenly the door of Sleeper Class S-1 coach was opened. At the same time there was stone pelting at the train too. At first the passengers could not understand what was happening, but Pendse realised that something untoward and dangerous was happening. Without thinking about his own safety, he rushed forward and pushed the door hard and locked it. He also warned and alerted the passengers. Because of this the dacoits could not enter the train, and their attempt to rob the train failed.
The railway administration has appealed to the passengers to lock the doors and windows of the bogie at night.
