Kolkata (Bengal) – TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has announced that the foundation for a Babri mosque will be laid on 6 December at Beldanga in Murshidabad. Kabir had given his word on 12 December last year that the mosque would be built.
Kabir further said, “Around 2 lakh people, including Muslim religious leaders, are expected to attend the foundation ceremony. Many will come from Murshidabad, North Bengal and Birbhum districts. Several individuals from Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai will also arrive. All preparations for the foundation-laying have been completed. The local Police and the government administration have been informed. It will take three years for the mosque to be completed.”
Will remain absent from the Chief Minister’s rally
On the same day, TMC chief and State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee will be addressing a public rally in Kolkata. However, Kabir has stated that due to the foundation-laying ceremony, he will be unable to attend the party’s rally. ‘The demolition of the Babri mosque was a conspiracy !’
Kabir further said that the demolition of the Babri mosque was a conspiracy. “Since 1992, we have been observing 6 December as a ‘Black Day’. It was a deeply painful day, and to lessen that grief even slightly, the foundation for this mosque is being laid”, he added.
