The thieves allegedly posed as Reserve Bank officials!

Bengaluru (Karnataka): A gang of thieves posing as Reserve Bank of India (RBI) officials allegedly looted ₹7 crore that was being transported for ATM loading in the Jayanagar locality. The incident occurred in broad daylight on November 18, near the Ashoka Pillar junction.
According to police sources, a CMS cash-management vehicle was transporting the cash from HDFC Bank’s JP Nagar branch to an ATM when it was intercepted by the suspects travelling in an Innova. The group reportedly blocked the CMS vehicle and, claiming to be RBI officials conducting a verification of cash and documents, asked the employees to step out. Within moments, the perpetrators allegedly took control of both the vehicle and the cash. Police said the accused made the CMS staff sit inside their own Innova car and drove towards Dairy Circle with the stolen money. The employees were later dropped off on a flyover, after which the suspects sped away in the direction of Bannerghatta Road.
The South Zone Police have cordoned off key areas of the city and are reviewing CCTV footage from Jayanagar, Dairy Circle, and Bannerghatta Road. A search operation has been launched to trace the organised gang involved in the heist.
