Mumbai : Ibrahim Khan parks in another society’s access lane and assaults a society member !

Mumbai, 16 November – At Mahim, a Hindu member of a housing society was assaulted after he questioned a Muslim man and his son for parking their vehicle in the access lane of another society. The incident took place in a society on Senapati Bapat Road near Mahim railway station. The Muslim accused has been identified as Ibrahim Khan. While pushing and shoving the society member, his young son even charged at the victim with a stick. Other residents intervened and resisted them. When the assaulted Hindu resident approached Mahim Police Station to file a complaint, the Police advised him to settle the matter instead of registering an offence.

1. The incident occurred on 16 November. According to information provided by residents, Ibrahim Khan had been parking his car in the premises of a nearby hospital. Recently, the hospital premises were purchased by another individual who then prohibited outsiders from parking there. Since then, Ibrahim Khan has been parking his vehicle in the access lane of the concerned society.

2. Some residents had earlier objected to his parking there; however, he continued doing so, ignoring everyone.

3. When society members went to Mahim Police Station to file a complaint, Ibrahim Khan’s elder brother was already present. He apologised to the assaulted member, but Ibrahim Khan himself refused to apologise.

4. Society members further stated that even the next day; Ibrahim Khan again parked his vehicle in the access lane of the same society.
