Case of giving more seats to Muslim students at Vaishnodevi Medical College

Jammu – Hindu organisations staged protests after 42 out of 50 seats for this year’s MBBS admissions were allotted to Muslim students at Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Medical College in the Katra area. The protestors alleged that there were several irregularities in the entire process. They said that complete information about the procedure was not made public and the merit list was not clearly declared.
The Yuva Rajput Sabha and Movement Kalki held demonstrations outside the main gate of the college. The protestors stated that the college is run by the Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board, which operates on funds donated by Hindu devotees. Therefore, the admission process must be entirely based on the criteria of merit and transparency.
The leadership of the Yuva Rajput Sabha stated that such allegations affect an important field like medical education. They demanded a high-level inquiry and insisted that strict action be taken against those found guilty.
