Türkiye issues statement after its name surfaced in the Delhi bomb blast case

Ankara (Türkiye) – Following the revelation that the terrorists involved in the Delhi bomb blast case, Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil, had previously travelled to Türkiye, the matter is now under investigation. Against this backdrop, Türkiye has issued a clarification stating that it is in no manner or form involved in extremist activities targeting India or any other country. These allegations, it claims, are completely misleading and have no factual basis.
1.There is suspicion that Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil were facilitated by Jaish-e-Mohammed for their travel to Türkiye. Both were using apps such as Telegram and Signal. They received instructions through these apps and subsequently travelled to Türkiye.
2.According to sources, based on the information provided by Dr Muzammil, during the initial phase of their association with Jaish-e-Mohammed, they communicated with a handler named ‘Abu Uqasa’. Türkiye was chosen as the venue for the 2022 meeting to avoid raising suspicion among Indian security agencies.
