Mumbai – In the Malvani area, Bangladeshi infiltrators have established settlements on government land in Dharavali, Ambulwadi, and Chikuwadi localities. Large-scale illegal slums have been built on these government plots, with a majority of residents being Bangladeshi infiltrators. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation has now begun demolishing these unauthorised structures, with the demolition drive underway since 2ndNovember.
State Skill Development Minister and Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha had filed a complaint regarding this issue with the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and also informed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about its seriousness. North Mumbai BJP MP and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had recently held a meeting with administrative and police officials to discuss demolishing the illegal slums in Malvani and expelling the Bangladeshi infiltrators. The current action follows the orders issued in that meeting.
Congress MLA Aslam Shaikh represents this area. (A probe should also be conducted to determine whether Congress members had a hand in this ! – Editor)
Editorial PerspectiveWere the administration and police asleep until a settlement of Bangladeshi infiltrators was established ? Why did they act only after receiving complaints ? This clearly indicates that there are infiltrators’ accomplices within the administration itself ! Such collaborators must also face action, and the government should immediately evict all Bangladeshi infiltrators from Malvani as well as the entire city of Mumbai ! |
