Sagar (Madhya Pradesh) – A man named Wasid Mukeri broke into a Shiva temple in the Man Jabot area on Jhansi Road in Sagar district and vandalised the Shivalinga along with other Deities’ Idols. The incident sparked tension in the locality, and locals staged road blockades in strong protest. The police have arrested the accused Wasid, who runs an egg stall near the temple. Around the temple, there are several shops owned by Muslims selling meat, fish and eggs. The area also witnesses frequent cow slaughter incidents. (How can such shops exist right beside a Hindu temple ? Hindus believe the Government must immediately act to remove them ! – Editor)

If this continues, peace on the streets will not last – warns Hindu leader Kapil Soni
Hindu leader Kapil Soni stated that meat shops operate on both sides of the temple, and a Muslim youth has desecrated Deities’ Idols. He said that some people from the Muslim community often attempt to disrupt communal harmony in Sagar — whether through slogans like ‘Sar tan se juda’ (beheading threats) or by vandalising temple Idols. If strict action is not taken now, Hindus of Sagar will show what happens when the situation turns volatile. So far, the district administration has taken only superficial measures, he added, warning that if this continues, peace on the streets will not be maintained.
