Anas Pathan arrested for insulting Bhagwan Shriram

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) – Police have arrested Anas Pathan for posting derogatory remarks about Bhagwan Shriram on social media. The post triggered outrage among Hindu organisations and local citizens, who filed complaints with the police and the cyber department. Acting swiftly, Bareilly Police arrested Pathan within 24 hours. Later, police released a video showing Anas Pathan with folded hands, publicly apologising for his act.

Insult to religion will not be tolerated ! – Police

Police officials stated that no one has the right to use offensive language against any religion, society, or community. Strict and immediate action will be taken against anyone attempting to hurt religious sentiments or disturb social harmony through social media.

There is a strict blasphemy law in Pakistan that imposes the death penalty for insulting religion. A similar law must now be implemented in India !
