New Delhi – The Supreme Court has refused to quash the case against Mohammad Faiyyaz Mansuri, who had written on Facebook, “Just as the Hagia Sophia mosque was rebuilt in Turkey, one day the Babri masjid too will be rebuilt.” The Court upheld the decision of the Allahabad High Court, which had earlier denied his plea to dismiss the case. Mansuri had approached the Supreme Court after the High Court’s refusal.
On 5th August 2020, Mansuri had made the above controversial post about the Babri masjid. A case was registered against him the next day, and he was arrested on 8th August 2020. Later, a case was also filed against him under the National Security Act.
