‘Sangitam Travels’ Bus-driver Forces a Female Passenger off the Bus with Her Two Children at a Deserted Place at Midnight

  • Later, the driver drops them at a safe place after admonition

  • Reports of taking one lakh rupees from the travel company for withdrawing the video from social media

Pune – The crew of ‘Sangitam Tours and Travels’ forced a female passenger with her two small children off the bus at midnight at a deserted place about ten km from Pune city. The driver dropped her later at Muktai Nagar after he was admonished. (Editorial Perspective : Why didn’t the Government put a curb on private travel companies which increase their fare four times in the background of Diwali festival ? Why shouldn’t the licence of such an insensitive travel company be cancelled for this grave mistake ? Who would have been responsible had some untoward incident happened with the female passenger ?)

The video of this incident was posted by an office bearer of a political party and a news channel but it was suddenly removed from their accounts. There is a rumour doing rounds of a monetary settlement with the travel company’s person for an amount of Rs one lakh for removing the video. (Editorial Perspective : Stringent action needs to be taken against the concerned crew members of the travel company for playing with the lives of a woman and children and cases should be filed against them after conducting inquiry into the monetary settlement likely to have taken place.)

Even earlier, a bus driver of ‘Sangitam Travels’ was reported to have been driving the bus at the speed of 100-120 km/hour on Samruddhi Mahamarg. A video had also become viral about the driver watching a movie on his cell phone using his headphones. The driver was so engrossed in watching the film that he didn’t realise a passenger video-shooting him. (Editorial Perspective : Had the Government taken action against the concerned travel company for playing with the lives of passengers, this incident wouldn’t have occurred now.)
