Amin caught targeting underage Hindu girls

  • Mother of the victim thrashes Amin in public

  • Bystanders rally in support of the mother

Mumbai – A fanatic named Amin, who runs a milk dairy, was preying on young Hindu girls visiting his shop. He reportedly stole their contact numbers and reached out to them through the Snapchat app. When he targeted a 14-year-old girl, she confided in her parents. Her mother then confronted Amin in the middle of the road and slapped him repeatedly, making him realise the gravity of his act.

Locals gathered at the spot and supported the mother’s action. A video of the incident was aired by several news channels. One of the onlookers remarked, “This is clearly a case of love jihad.” The victim’s mother was heard shouting, “Why do you approach girls from our community? Talk to women from your own religion !” and continued to strike him. Another bystander commented, “Had the girl not told her parents, this would never have come to light.”

BJP leaders later told the media that strict action would be taken against the accused.

Editorial Perspective

  • Uttar Pradesh has enacted a strict law against ‘love jihad’. There, even teasing a girl invites severe punishment — Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s administration makes the offender publicly apologise and face social humiliation.
  • Citizens in Maharashtra now strongly feel that their state too must adopt similar stringent measures to protect women.
